Elephone Vowney is a Chinese smartphone brand belonging to Elephone Company which is situated or located in Shenzen, China. Company was founded the 9 years back precisely 2006 and majorly deals in Android smart phones. Design – The Elephone Vowney retains much of the design elements and features of its earlier version or predecessor but some improvements have been made by adding more features and specifications.
It retains the rear back panel which comes along with carbon fibre texture that is similar to carbon fibre brand skin along with the metal band. It weighs 156 grams and is 9.5 mm thick making device feel very solid and substantial when held on the hand. Its thickness makes room for a large 4000 mAh battery. Removable back cover, gives access to dual SIM and microSD card slot, however, it is quite thin with relatively hard clips that hold it in place making it difficult to remove. The devices speed is 1.7 times the LPDDR 3 enabling easier browsing of the web, 3D games, multitasking and video playing easier and smoother.
4GB RAM can also run any more applications at the same moment with game starting and loading being more quick and switching between programs becomes more smoother.Software – It has multiple operating systems or dual boot including, Android 5.1 Lollipop which is first version and Windows 10 and Android 5.1 which are the second versions.
This makes the device easy and fast to swipe through and between different folders and get what was been searched for. But, you will get the Android Installed only with the device in-a-box. so if you want, you can ask for the windows version too. But, android is much preferred for this device and you should go with that only. With custom Elephone user interface on top as is seen or identified with other customised user interfaces from other Chinese OEMs, there is no application drawer available making users to depend on folders to keep things well organized. Gesture settings present in its predecessor such as double tapping screen to wake up phone are not available.
Everything else such as the settings menu and various software aspects remain stock like. Phone supports many languages including English, Italian, Arabic, Japanese, French and Chinese among many other languages. Has both rear and front camera. Rear camera has a resolution of 20.7 megapixels with 192 phase-detection auto focus reducing focusing time by 0.3 seconds while front camera’s resolution is 8 megapixels.
Dual LED Flash is also present. The gadget supports real time HDR 30 FPS recording of 4k Ultra High Definition videos added by IMX 230. This makes camera to produce awesome shots and great images in noisy, high and poor light conditions however camera has focus and exposure issues for it takes long to take a correct shot.Removable Li-on polymer battery 3800 mAh, screen protector, charger, user manual and USB cables. Device lasts for 25 hours with just 5 hours while screen is on which is impressive to any standard.
